The "easy side" is the one at the main entrance, with the playground and restrooms. It's longer, but consists of rocks placed as steps. That doesn't mean you won't be out of breath by half way up. The "harder side" is accessed from the smaller parking lot on the opposite side or the base trail, and requires using your hands as there are larger rocks to climb and the trail isn't as straightforward.
Great trails. Of course look out for snakes in the warmer months.
Definitely one of my favorite things to do in little rock. The view from the top, and even on the way up, is way worth it.
One of the wonders of Arkansas. Some mountains are higher but few have the charm of Pinnacle Mountain. You can traverse the steps on the 'easy' side or rough it on the 'hard' side. I was surprised to learn I could rent a canoe and supplies very cheap. My father and I floated the water around the mountain this past Father's day. Not to mention it's right outside the city limits. I take everyone from out of town to this mountain. A close, cheap, fun way to make new memories
It is a nice park for hiking. They only have two biking trails for mountain bikes. One is .7 miles the other is 6.5 miles. They dont have one that is in between. My boyfriend and I did the .7 mile one. There are lots of rocks on the trail making it dangerous for bikers. Overall it was cool to go biking but the trails are not taken care of.
My favorite is climbing the hard side, going down the easy side, and walking around the base trail to cool off.
Loved the clean bathrooms and there's several trails you can do! The views are spectacular. If you are uncomfortable on rocks this may not be the place for you. There's picnic tables and a playground for the kids. Only thing I would improve is marking the Rocky portion of the trail a bit better. Definitely worth a trip here!
Beautiful location with much to offer the casual or exuberant hiker. The trails are short and can be done with relative ease. There is a lot of play area for the kids and even dogs. If you canoe or kayak, there is a launch in the park for some pretty water action, the water is not moving or has little current so it's a great time for reflection and soaking in the atmosphere.
